The Evergreen Artists Association
– Since 1958 –

The Evergreen Artists Association was founded in 1958 by artists who joined together providing support and creating an organization for the advancement of the visual arts in our Colorado mountain community. Now, almost 60 years after the first meeting was held on April 24, 1958, EAA members continue to share their work in a wide variety of fine art and fine craft media as beginners, amateurs and professionals.

Since incorporation in April 1972, the EAA has promoted appreciation and enjoyment, as well as raised the standards of the visual arts in the mountain area.

Of the many activities the EAA sponsors, the best known is the Evergreen Fine Arts Festival, which takes place the fourth weekend of August each year. Now rated among the top shows in the nation and noted for its quality, this two-day festival has been an annual Evergreen event for 49 years. Artists from all over the country participate in this event which is attended by thousands from the Rocky Mountain region.

The EAA hosts the Main Street Fine Art Gallery on the historic Main Street of downtown Evergreen. The gallery is comprised of juried artwork from emerging EAA members. The gallery is continuously changing the artwork on the walls, and participates in the Last Friday of the Month Gallery Walk every month. Workshops, demos and lectures are held in this space as well.

The EAA newsletter keeps members up-to-date on what is happening in association affairs, member activities and gives advance information on upcoming events. Classes and workshops help interested individuals learn or develop skills as an artist.

Each year the EAA provides a Youth Art Scholarship award of $1500 plus two merit awards of $250 each to graduating High School Seniors or Homeschoolers who will go on to study Fine Art as a major or minor at university level.

The Evergreen Artists Association is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501c3 organization formed to support and promote the arts in the Evergreen, Colorado community.
